Searching Series & Sequels

Note: We have defined series as those groups of books which publishers join together by a common look and reader interest and which may be written by a variety of authors. For example Aussie Bites, Solos. Sequels are books by the same author about the same characters and are usually sequential in plot and are part of a defined story. For example, Philip Pullman's trilogy His Dark Materials.

Because of the need to be very specific in searching, The Source uses an Excalibur text search. This means that you cannot search by numerous keywords or by part of a word.

You can search under:

1. A complete word

e.g. Solos

2. More than one word in sequence

e.g. His Dark
3. A complete series title e.g. His Dark Materials

Hints
1. You can search under both upper and lower case
2. Apostrophes must be used correctly e.g. Children's
3. Do not search under definitives at the beginning of a search. However use 'the', 'a' and 'an' within the series or sequel title.
